The school district is working with the Department of Health and will notify you when we have updates. We have been instructed by the Department of Health that quarantine guidelines remain as they have been at this time until we are notified.

The judging panel selected one senior female, Caroline, and one senior male, Grahm Tuohy-Gaydos, Green Mountain High School, Lakewood, CO, from the 12 National Finalists as National Winners. Each National Winner will receive a $5,250 college scholarship.

The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Gulf Coast Chapter rewarded the ACCEL grants to projects that demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching and encouraging an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. The recipients received grants up to $1000.

Newly elected School Board member Marti Gardner, who was previously sworn in, was unable to attend but was also recognized. Elise and Caroline Foreman, Bob Sikes Elementary School, led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Art in the Capitol Competition, authorized by section 1003.49965, Florida Statutes, is an annual statewide visual arts competition for students in Grades 6 – 8.

The Okaloosa County School Board has issued a Proclamation declaring that Wednesday, November 18, 2020, be recognized as Education Support Professionals Day.
